Tree Wise PETS FAQ

A traditional yurt is a portable round tent that originated in Mongolia. It’s circular shape means it can have heavy loads on the roof while being light weight. A pet yurt is a yurt for pets!

Tree Wise PETS is rooted in adventure living for humans. We have years of experience building tree houses and yurts for humans with our parent company, Tree Wise Designs. We built a scale model yurt to bring to trade shows, but our two cats immediately claimed the structure as their own. So we started Tree Wise PETS to bring adventure living to our furry friends. We maintain the same quality and uniqueness in our products for both humans and pets.

We design and build all our products in-house to ensure every piece meets our standards. We create our products with form and function in mind. All of our products are handmade, durable and easy to clean. Since we design all our products ourselves, we can efficiently create quality custom orders and modifications. We strive to create not just products, but also experiences, that humans and pets will love.

We wanted to create products that pets would love, but are also low maintenance for humans. All fabric elements are machine-washable and durable for extensive hours of play. The frames are sealed wood and can be wiped down and sanitized with any household cleaner. Furniture is easy to assemble to allow for easy moving and storage. Our pet furniture is used in many shelters and homes.

Every Tree Wise PETS product is handmade in our workshop in Colorado. While we strive to get products out as quickly as possible, our primary focus is quality. Toys and smaller items usually take about 3-5 days to ship, and larger furniture can take up to 2 weeks. Shipping is based on weight and location. Currently we only ship to the United States, but please e-mail us at pets@treewisedesigns.com to inquire about international shipping. Standard shipping is through USPS ground, with options for expedited shipping at additional cost. Standard shipping usually takes 2-8 business days. Tracking numbers are included with every order once it is shipped.

It may take some time for your pet to get used to a new bed. Cats especially can be finicky. Here are some tips we have found through our own experiences and shared by other customers.

• Change the yurt location. Try your pet’s favorite napping spots or places where he/she normally hangs out.
• Put your pet’s favorite blanket or pillow in the yurt to get him/her used to the new smells.
• Put a shirt or cloth that smells like you in or near the yurt so it smells familiar and comforting.
• Coax your fur baby into the yurt with treats.
• Use toys and have playtime around the yurt so your pet gets used to being around it.

It’s important to be patient and let your pet explore at their own pace. We want to make sure you and your pets love your Tree Wise PETS products. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We do offer a 30-day return policy for purchases through our website, but from our experience it just takes a little time and then your fur baby will never want to leave his/her new home.

We accept returns within 30-days of initial product delivery to buyer. To request a refund, email us at Tree Wise PETS at pets@treewisedesigns.com with “Request a Refund” in the subject line. If a refund is approved, the buyer is responsible for return shipping, the product must be in its original condition, and must be shipped within 7 business days from the day the refund is approved.
